Like the title says, has anyone tried an entire gen 3 front clip on a gen 4 body shell? The gen 4 is overall a better vehicle, revised rear suspension, more powerful v8 engine, better trans behind the v8, and a revised interior design, redesigned rear hatch, but they got an ugly front end. I know the front fender aprons might be different, but maybe not, Ford has done some stupid **** over the years. But the basic body shell is basically the same because in reality, the gen 4 is just a refresh of the gen 3's. Ford just changed so much that they consider it a new design.

There is no change between the 3rd and 4th gen Mountaineer body panels that I am aware of. If so, then there might be good odds that 3rd gen panels might fit on a 4th gen. There have been a few here that have installed the 4th gen rear lift gate on a 3rd gen that needed some wiring adjustments to make it function properly. I think the changes were mostly cosmetic like headlights, bumpers, etc. The wiring might be an issue because the 4th gens are much more complicated in this regard.

As long as you have welding and bending skills everything is possible.

The front body panels are all different
