Hi, Northwest Ohio newbe here.I have an '02 4.0 explorer and an "04 4.6, 2valve. Question on the "02.It has many, many new drive train and chassis parts, including a reman engine. Everything but the wiring harness has been replaced, some sensors twice. This includes the pcm, pump, regulator, filter, injectors, all sensors. Engine runs fine and suddenly simply seems to just drop the leftbank. Definately a fuel problem but no one, including Ford trained mechs can find a reason. Fueltrim is always offand all codes point to fuel issues. Any ideas? Also, will the trans from the '02 4l fit the '04 4.6?
Thanks!!

i would start checkin the little things. fuel relay could be malfuntioning or a fuse my be opening. or fuel rail on the left bank might have some electrical interference. like maybe a spark plug wire is laying over the injectors. could also have a pinched wire or a problem with your returnless system. does the rail end on the left or right bank? if its the bad side side could be losing fuel pressure from a bad pump or clogged filter

4.O Fuel problem

Thanks Bones66, i APPRECIATE YOUR HELP. iT'S HAD TWO NEW PUMPS, ONE AFTER MARKET AND ONE FORD , NEITHER HELPED. SEEMS TO BE THE LEFT BANK AND THERE IS A FUEL DAMPER (FOR ETHANOL?) ON THE RADIATOR END OF THAT RAIL. IT'S ALSO BEEN REPLACED. STARTS AND RUNS BUT HAS ALMOST NO POWER AND SUDDENLY IT WILL "KICK" IN AND RUN GREAT. OTHER TIMES IT MISSES HORRIBLY LIKE THE LEFT BANK DROPPED OFF COMPLETELY. ALL CODES ALWAYS INDICATE THE LEFT BANK. I REALLY BELIEVE THERE IS A PINCHED WIRE OR MAYBE A GROUND HAS WENT "GREEN". I THINK MAYBE A CONNECTOR WAS DAMAGED WHEN THE ENGINE WAS SWAPPED OUT BUT DON'T KNOW FOR SURE. THE RE-MAN ENGINE RAN FINE FOR A WHILE THEN THIS ISSUE STARTED. HAVE ALSO SWAPPED OUT THE PCM, NO HELP. INJECTORS ARE NEW TOO. THANKS FOR THE TIP RE: PLUG WIRE INTERFERENCE. i'LL LOOK AT THAT. THANKS AGAIN!
