02 EB Auto Tranny roll back on hills

I've got an 02 V8 EB with the 5 speed auto tranny. I have a problem with it rolling backward when I'm on a steep hill in Drive. I also tested it in Reverse and it does the same thing. I'm not talking about a few inches, it will roll several car lengths if I take the brake off and the hill is steep. Otherwise it works fine on the flat, no hesitation and shifts well. I've also got a clattering sound coming from underneath. Sounds kind of like a valve clatter or diesel sound but not coming from the engine.

It's under extended warranty and I'm going to take it in but any thoughts or experience on what this may be? I'd like to go in educated if possible and I know there's some folks on here that have alot of experience with these trannys...

In my experiance any veh. will roll back on a steep hill. I dont think that means the trans. is bad or anything is wrong.
