Can anyone tell me if the stock muffler on my Explorer is a clamp on? Been so busy lately i havent had the time to get under there and check.

Can anyone tell me if the stock muffler on my Explorer is a clamp on? Been so busy lately i havent had the time to get under there and check.

The factory exhaust system should be made of stainless steel and the muffler welded to the factory pipe/tailpipe. Unless it is damaged, the tailpipe can be re-used and welded on to the new stainless steel muffler if you are thinking of replacing the muffler. I had a muffler shop do mine last year.

What kind of muffler would yall recommend for a beefy sound? I dont want it screaming loud, just a nice rumble.
