02 explorer tailgate????

i have and 02 explorer xlt and on the back tailgate there is a strip of plastic right under the glass where the ford emblem is. this piece of plastic is cracked and i was wondering if anyone knew where to get one or what this piece is called. thanks

Oh boy, this is the part that was recently addressed as being prone to cracking, and costly to repair... Let's see where the thread is.

its the rear applique' panel. it breaks on alot of 3rd gens. mine did. im waiting to get it replaced. to sum ^ that thread up about 300 bucks to get it fixed. paint and labor is what makes it cost so much.

i try to close my tailgate from the middle to avoid cracking it
