i gotta 02 mountaineer with 225k on the clock...runs great most of the time...i've noticed a timing chain noise when in drive in a drive through..put it in park or touch the gas to get the idle up slightly and it goes away..was reading about a tsb on a updated timing kit for the front and was wondering if i would be lucky enough to just replace the tensioners and not have to tear everything down to do the whole "kit" i also notice the noise when i'm accelerating cold...sounds almost like a labor knock...it mentioned this in the tsb also...have any of you had any luck just doing the tensioners to get rid of the noise? from what i understand, its a very easy job as you don't have to tear anything apart(they bolt in from the outside?)
