I took the 2 screws off but it still won't come out... It looks like maybe the front part needs to detach somehow but it won't budge. The deal is I bought a new bezel because the one on my truck doesn't have the foglight switch even though my truck has fogs... The one I bought is from a Mountaineer and has the AWD switch instead of the 4WD switch. Don't know if there is an actual difference or not. But to be on the safe side I was going to swap them.
That's all there was to it on my 02 Sport Trac and it should be the same on your Sport. The spring clips hold pretty tight. Work your fingers behind the bezel at the top and apply firm steady outward pressure.

Ok. I will give it another go. Just didn't want to break anything. I know on the F150 there is a trick to taking the headlight switch off which is similar...
I had a 98 I almost did that to. Luckily I stopped and looked it up first. I've learned the hard way that if you have to force it chances are you are doing something wrong.
The Sport/Sport Trac always had a separate fog switch. I thought the '04 or '05 Sport Trac moved it to the headlight switch but didn't according to the service manuals.
