02 V8 interchange w/ 03+ Models?

Thanks for looking in -- I see that 02 4.6L supposedly only works for 02 models. Why is that? Could you just switch out the intakes w/ an 03 or 04 model? Any other parts that would need to be swapped? Thanks -- Trying to replace an 03 V8 and see a good deal on an 02.

On the 02, I'd think you'd just want to use the block and heads. Swap everything else over from the other vehicle. Water pump and pan etc.. Would be fine I'm sure.
