03 explorer engine swap

I have a problem, I wrecked my 2003 explorer last night and bent the frame on the drivers side door. I found a few 2003 explorers on craigslist that have blown engines. How difficult would it be to replace my running engine in another explorer that has a blown motor. They are both 4.0L V6. Thanks

If you have access to all the right tools tools it's pretty easy. If you only have basic hand tools and no garage to work in its going to be a pain. Also unless you gave a decent bit of experience in auto repair it's going to take you a ton of hours to complete(40+ hours).

Although swapping engines takes effort, swapping between two same year trucks is as easy as it gets for swaps. Take pictures of everything you disconnect as you are taking it out, then when you can't remember where things go you can look at the pictures.

Replace the timing chains while the motors out. Or, the guides and tensioners that is.
