Ok, I had just seen that many folks have updated their 2nd gen gauge clusters with '01-03 Explorer white face clusters. The Mountaineer gauge cluster must've been revised further into incompatibility then?

I was under the impression the 01-03 white gauge swaps were from Sportracs, and Sports, which are essentially Second Gens.

I put a white faced gauge cluster from a sport in my Mountaineer.
It has to be a 2nd Gen, which includes the sports and tracs up until they changed styles.
