Wife's '04 Bauer Explorer - Automatic Temp Control - 20% of the time, heat and A/C air flow is just fine. 30% of the time, air flow is erratic (fan speeds up / slows down randomly). 50% of the time, no air flow / fan speed at all.
I have pulled the motor and powered it directly - full fan speed, good air flow, no weird noises. Fan runs 100% of the time this way.
Have replaced the blower motor resistor - no joy.
I haven't been able to test what I think is the blower motor relay, as I can't get at it.
Some info I have seen suggests that the blower motor relay is situated upside down behind the steering wheel / dash and requires your wrist to bend in 3 places to pull it out.
Any tips on how to access that relay, or other avenues to investigate?
Wife very unhappy, desperate to solve.
