04 Ford Explorer
My 04 Explorer decided not to start this morning and I am in a panic. It turned over for a few seconds without stating the just stopped. Turning the key only makes the lights inside come on. The headlights are bright and a meter shows the battery is good. It is like no juice is getting to the starter. A relay or solenoid problem possibly? I need help now folks. 2 kids that have to go to school and a wife that works and only THIS car!!! HELP PLEASE!!!! Thanks all..

Break out that multimeter or test light and check. Does the relay click at all? try jumping it

Have determined thru searching the archives that my PCM needs to be relearned to my key. Or something to that effect. I changed the battery and starter with NO results. Returned the battery. So tomorrow i am calling Ford dealerships and locksmiths to see how cheap I can get this done. Spent waaaaaay too much $$$$$$ already.

I doesn't sound like you have this problem in hand.... i think you are heading in the wrong direction. Just because you replace a battery and a starter doesn't mean anything. As suggested, get a meter and check things out unless you want more $$$$ out the window.

Exactly, The dealer is gonna do the exact same thing. I'll even check Mitchells for any TSB's... Hate to see a guy loose his cool and money

Their is one TSB, but the relay should click... Sometimes theirs a open from the relay to starter

Is it in park, try nuturel, lol

Check fuse 12 in engine compt. & Fuse 29 under drivers dash

Turned out to be the coding issue after all. Had it towed to Orville Beckford Ford in Milton and before he could do anything, the tech said my battery had a bad cell and needed to be replaced. Buy one from them, $160.00 or buy one from Auto Zone and they charge me $50.00 to put it in. Get screwed either way huh? Got the batt, did the recoding and it started right up. I went ahead and kept the starter. Who knows, maybe it was causing the battery to work too hard and killed it. But all is well, other than all the $$$$ I had to spend. Thanks all...................
