I've searched the max tire sizes but I'm not sure if there is a difference between 2wd and 4wd. Mine is a 05 xlt 2wd and I'm looking to fill the fender wells. This was my wife's for the last 6 years and I bought her Tahoe so I figure this will be my ride now. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the bfg all terrains on the stock 16" xlt wheels. Thanks

What is your stock tire size?

Go one size up. My stock size was 235's, I went up to 245's and get a little rub in the front at full turn.

My stock size is 235/70/16 and that's the size that's on it now. I have read that the 265's would fit but I'm guessing this was on a 4wd.

I have Nitto Trail Grapplers on my stock rims (the larger stock rims). They fill the space pretty well and drive nicely.

I bought my '05 XLT last month with 235/70/16's on it. Just put on new Kumho AT 245/75/16's on the stock rims. No issues, no rubbing.
