Ok so this weekend had to replace the thermostat housing and it leaked a lot of anti freeze all over the engine and down the back side. After completing that and driving 40 miles to work on the interstate and coming to a traffic light it just started banging when trying to take off and it was definitely a transmission issue . I was able to shift manually to 3 and it would take off fine then I would shift to drive with no issue. I have no trouble lights or codes and it runs fine once into overdrive. It also would come out of reverse if I accelerate when trying to back up. I am wanting to know if the antifreeze got into some electrical component or it’s just coincidence and my transmission is junk.
