Hey all, just wondering if anyone can give me some info, not really sure what to search for. Think I have a coolant leak, interested in what you think might be the cause. linked a photo showing what I am talking about. Smoke/vaporize coolant seen coming from the bottom arrow after driving for a few mins even when coolant tank is full. I also think it is collecting in the place shown in the upper arrow.

4.0 V6 is correct. I'll look in couple hours when I get a chance. Thanks for the help guys. I'm good at getting in there and doing stuff, an idiot when it comes to the names ha.

Amazon has a doorman full replacement (upper and lower) for cheap. around 30 bucks if I remember right. I used it on mine. You can probably see my review. Mine has been running strong for over a year now.

I’m swapping mines out now. I was struggling with the alternator bracket that came with the intake. While searching online how to mount it I seen a couple videos come up where people were posting the intake will cause vacuum leaks. Your post give me hope cause I’m about 75% done. Worst case scenario I have to drain the coolant and plug those holes.

The all aluminum Simmons housing will last a lifetime and is what I used.

I strongly suggest the you replace the original 20 psi radiator cap with a 16 psi cap. Many here, have done this with absolutely not reduction in cooling performance. I replaced mine about 3-4 years ago and have never seen the temperature rise above the same that I saw with the 20 psi cap installed. The 4th gen Explorers and Mountaineers have a lot of issues with the radiators leaking where the plastic mates to the aluminum and with other cooling hoses relating to the interior climate control. I think a big reason for these failures is the 20 psi operating pressure. The Motorcraft radiator cap I have linked to below is rated at 16 psi and is a direct fit for the 4th gens.
