Yes, 1100 HP sounds pretty high. I've been following the Supra scene since the MKIV's came about in the 93 1/2 model. 1100 isn't that hard to come by in a Supra if you have the cash! I've seen many 700hp+ Supra's with less than 20 grand invested. If you can get a hold of a 2JZ engine from Japan you can easily exceed 1000 hp's.

I have freinds in the tuner/ricer field and all of them agree that HP at the flywheel means nothing. If you can't convert that to the ground than it is worthless. 0y point is, these outrageous numbers are estimated HP at the flywheel and not actually what is being transmitted to the ground. Also, one to three hundred of that HP is coming from a NO2 shot that is not used on most real drag cars.

1100hp... easily said then done.

thats after alot of major internal modifications towards the engines internals!!!!

Check out MY Project Supra that i've spoken and bragged about in this forum.. hehe

its crazy.. not even half done.. Money is my problem here.. Rite now im just savin up and re-doing the suspension with Tein Parts

And btw... To get estimated HP to the wheel using HP from the flywheel.. just minus 20% of Flywheel horsepower.. so if that supra is pullling 1000 hp to the flywheel. then to the road its pulling around 800...

Why is it that thousand horsepower Supras have problems getting in the 10's?

as TarHeel said, its traction. with that much power, you need to be tubbed/linked. a 17" or 18" tire isnt even gonna come close to hooking up on that car.

and whackdaddy, sorry. its a 958.3 hp Supra if you go by rear wheel. :)

there's that thin line between too much power and enough power at the begining and throughout the powerband.. too much power and if you rev too high at the begining and you'll bark the tires too much.. Theres also the "adjustment" of a "TURBO TIMER" and "TURBO LAG" a big turbo is for top end, but with top end you lose acceleration. Two small turbos gives crazy ass acceleration but no real top end. Adjustting the turbo and telling it when to kick in is the most important too if you are going for 1/4 mile times. Adjusting the turbo to kick in as soon as possible would be the best way. My friend at Intense Motorsports (those are the guys that are helping me with mine) runs 10.42 @ 146 mph with a T78 Turbo (sorta small turbo.. but pretty big). My other friend in his RX7 runs a T88 (bigger turbo) and doesnt really run the 1/4 mile but just uses his RX7 as a HIGHWAY KiLLER. He can spark tires at 120 miles a hour in fifth gear.. Turbo I'm getting is a T78 because i prefer quick acceleration then top end (I dont wanna kill myself just yet!!) Another thing is.. Supras are probably one of the heaviest, next to the 3000gt and skylines..
Power to Weight Ratio is very important.. a 500 horsepower'd honda CRX can out toast a 1000 horsepower Supra anyday...

my........pants........are.......very............wet *drooooool* that is a nice nice nice nice car.......the wing exceeds the no fly zone when near airports, but other than that its super clean

When I saw the price I thought $40 Grand for a used Supra! That's crazy- then I saw the pictures... $40 Grand is about right.:D

Is that the owner of Suprastore.com? That's an amazing car right there.
