'12 Explorer order lead time

We have a 2009 Ford Flex with the lease ending Nov 30, 11. Will be ordering a 2012 with X-Plan, but I'm uncertain of the timing.

Dealer stated 6-8 weeks from order to delivery...sound about right? I'm in metro NYC area.

Yeah give or take 2 more weeks. I say more like 8-10 weeks if you get it in by tomorrow or Monday. I ordered mine March 1st and finally got it April 21st, I waited for the transport truck to get to the dealer.

YEA but you are in miami not new rochelle, i live in jersey city i have a 302a pkg 2011 i ordered it on jan 20 and got it feb 21st it mostly has to do with the dealer's alotment my dealer smith cairns ford in yonker's get more than most because he sell's more than other's and plus they are a great deslership. And i don't work there i just have leased over ten vehicles from them!!in the past years and they have great tech guys there and very friendly sales man !!

Ordered mine on 1/20/11. It arrived at the dealer on 5/5/11. That was during a period where there were several vehicle holds, shipping shortages, and I ordered from a small dealer with a low allotment.

For me, it was perfect timing as I was not in a rush and have a vehicle I own that the '11 supplements.

Thanks guys...I think I'll order Labor Day or the weekend after.

I'm planning on leasing again....I find after 3 yrs, I'm ready for a change...plus vehicles change so fast these days in terms of design, safety, etc.

The Flex was very very good, unique, got a lot of looks and positive comments...but I feel that the Explorer will be a better fit for the family. Not that resale matters as much on a lease, but I feel that in 3 years the Flex most likely won’t be in production.

I was just wondering if Ford Credit in the U.S. offers a refundable security program on its leases. Ford Credit in Canada does but my salesman wasn't aware until I asked him about it. I put down $6250 and that reduced the interest rate the maximum 1.5%. At the end of the 48 month lease I get that deposit back. I did a similar thing with the previous 2 Highlanders I leased.
