I have an 01 sport and last night I found out that the stock 15" wheels from my 92' will not fit over the front brake calipers on the 01', the rear fit fine. I just assumed that because my factory spare for the 01' is a 15" rim that the wheels would clear. The problem is that the alloy rims have a thicker wall than the factory supplied steel spare, leaving less room for the caliper. So my advice is to be sure to check fitment prior to purchase. Has anyone else run into this problem of wheels failing to clear the caliper?

I have seen a sporttrac here in Columbus once with 15" wheels and larger tires on it. They were steel wheels though. From what I understand the 01+ sports and sporttrac's have the same front brake set up.

Like everyone before has said the answer is "maybe" It will depend on the rim. Steel vs. Alloy. Backspacing, etc
Phishin' Fill- a 15" rim is the standard equipment on the '01 sport, the 16" was an option.
(that most had)
chriswells78- there is also a black ST on here with 15" steel rims and 35"
