16's instead of 15's?

I'm getting ready to purchase new wheels and tires for my '97 AWD Mounty. Here's what I've narrowed it down to:
16x8 with 4 1/2" backspace with 265/70/16 Tires OR
15x8 with 3 3/4" backspace with 31x10.5x15
I'm leaning towards the 16's because I can't find 15's with a 4 1/2" backspace (I'm concerned about the tires sticking out too far and the added stress it may add). Anyone have any pros and cons they can share with me by going with the 16's?

the 15x8s with the 3.75 backspacing will be awesome...... 15s are a lot easier and cheaper to find tires for....... 4.5" of bs will be a lot.... the stock ones dont even have that much and it may cuase rubbing on suspension componenets.......
