Here's a shot of a side by side comparison of a stock v8 Explorer and my Mountaineer:

That's beautiful! Are those stock tailights (on your Mounty)?

wow, very nice! You had a lot more luck than I did with my wheels. Did you have to run spacers with those? and what size tires are you running?

Derek

looking good. i thought about selling my 95 R's a while back and going with the Y2K's, but i just figured it wouldnt be long until there would be a flood of Y2K's on X's. you are so far the first, so you are the originator.;)

wow. that is real clean. i really like it! those tailights look sweet too, not too flashy but defintely has some style! keep up the good work

nice.. are those tyc carbon fiber tailights? rims look sweet.. how about lowering it 2 inches?:D

thanks for the compliments...

the rims were perfect fit. i put toyo 255/55/18 tires on them, and there is absolutely no rubbing. it's all good.

i can honestly say that handling has been improved. i made a quick, harsh U-turn, and the mountaineer was a lot more balanced than before w/ the 235/75/15 A/Ts.

i told myself i'd do engine work first, but i couldn't resist getting the rims. the tyc tail lights look great - no leaks so far.

i thought about lowering the truck around 1.5" using the EE kit, but i decided not to. the stock height allows me to be both street and offroad. i plan on getting 31" offroad tires and use em when i go offroad.

thanks guys!

Are the fenders different on a Mounty then a 2nd gen.? Do you think the Mounty grill and headlights would fit an Explorer hood and fenders?

No the whole hood is different.

BTW props to you tony, looks great and you got a good deal on that stuff. Keep the good mods comin!

Doh! Just when I was gonna buy regular 95 Cobras off a buddy real cheap, you go and post this!

Now I gotta think about it more....

Nice truck, like the tail lights too

Nice job Tony! Also how did you manage to only get red fords in that picture? The red Explorer, the red mustang behind it and the red Taurus..plus your red truck...i guess it's just a wierd coincidence...nice job though!

arnt you selling these wheels cause they are rubbing?

yea.. they're on sale now.

they rub. i didn't notice until recently.

if you guys wanna buy the set, or just the rims ... email me: choisw@purdue.edu or im me: vh321

accually the fenders and hood are the same.....all you need to do is convert the header panel that the lights mount to....if you look close at the painted piece below the lights that is part of the header panel...its composite.... and if you remove your grill you will see what im talking about better.
