19 owns you (gonna be in truckin too!) worklog!

just the platic material the hu surround piece is made out of sets it apart from the competition. it just looks and feels like a higher quality than the others (good thing too since its the only one i couldn't find locally to play with)

the center channel looks pretty nice too, and the 25 watt rms amp it comes with is nice and small enough to fit where i want to put it

imagine how long this thread will be in 8 more weeks when everything is finally back together...

from now on too, i'm just gonna post all of my mods in this thread etc. i should probably get it moved to my elite explorer registery. too bad it can't be in both places...

I want more construction pics... like during the process =P

I just want to be on the mailing list for this thread.

hydroxy, i'll help you to build anything you want, but i refuse to put up all construction pics on here, too many pics to take, and too much help for others who might want to pay me to do the same thing.

front bumper goes back on today btw.

cant wait to see it done! looking good though!

just posting so i can get the email updates. looking good man kee it up.

well, the rollpan will be here the day after tomorrow and i have class all day tomorrow, so i had to get the front bumper done and the rear of the truck as close to ready for the rollpan as possible.

on these rear quarter panels i've laid roughly 15 layers of glas in the low spots and 4 in the high spots and then a little bit of short hair bondo stuff to start smoothing it.

also, i chopped off my exhaust tips.

after i get it painted with the rollpan done i'll be reassessing whether they go back on or not, or if i'm gonna use different ones etc. for now they were in the way so i did this

your underbody needs some work/paint =)

Only thing you might wanna worry about w/ the exhaust coming out where it is, is that at idle i'll all be underneath the truck...

Drew's exhaust used to be dumped, mine is like that now, you just have to be careful not to idle too long.

dude- my exhaust used to be dumped right behind the muffler lmao

what areyou talking about

Im 100% positive that you'll be happy with that Clarion. I was somewhat skeptical, myself about going to Clarion, but Im SO glad I did. I had a $600 Kenwood Excelon unit, that frankly sounds like a Sony XPlod, compared to my Clarion. The smallest nunace is now brought out loud and clear. In fact so much that I can hardly stand to listen to ANY MP3 encoded less than 192Kbps VBR(And even that, on some songs, makes the "encoder poop" more apparent).

well, most of us know that kenwood sucks. i'm always amazed by the number of people who recommend their products. that said, thanks for saying that- its gonna be hell not installing it for the next 7 weeks or so while it all gets painted and finished up for me

oh yeah- my underbody does not need work or paint... i know its a mess, but i've driven this truck every day for the last 5 years and i'm not about to stop (well except for the next 3 weeks) and i'm not ashamed of the surface rust--- that is unless you want ot come fix it for me

buy me 2 good caps and I'll be there. :p I'm not saying you should be ashamed of the rust... I'm just saying it would help finish the look..

honestly, i would trade two caps for it to actually be cleaned up. no problems there.

i love your kick panels. i always see people trying to do their own kick panels, but they turn out ugly and bulky, yours are stylish, almost like a qlogic pair... cant wait to see them finished
