I kinda miss the 3 tone front bumper.... I'm not used to it being all white :p

OMG, FORE!!!!! LOL, that looks so much better than I thought it would. But time for the final test is to see if the flames mess up your drive, improve it, or does nothing but look pretty. I hope it not only looks good, but helps your driving some too. The only thing I may have tried to do would be to put 1 flame going right to the center of the driver where the sweet spot is, marked by the little 0. Know what I mean? I would love my Calloway ERC driver to have those little flames on it, that just looks awesome to me and certainly 1 of a kind. Thanks for sharing that with us.

thanks man, yeah the flames are aligned properly with the aim of the driver. so far it hasn't hindered me at all. i love it.

Im not trying to be an ass or anything but I have been debating to paint my grill on my mounty white but I'm really not feeling it. Did you have any other ideas about what you were going to do with the grill?

I think it would look better without the white bars. A billet or speedgrill would look awesome in there.

i'm not gonna do anything with mine.

my mom just picked up an '04 navigator ultimate package, monotone package, in black. It comes with everythign monotone plus the vertical bars in the grille are chrome that would look sick if you could do it.

guys- as for my grille, i agree that maybe something else would be better etc. but keep in mind that i had deadlines to meet, and better places to spend my time. the way it is now is the way it will be for hopefully at least a year and maybe forever (unless i repaint the whole truck differently). The exterior modifications are more of an afterthought at this point just to draw some attention to it for the stereo stuff and install. you'll see what i mean in about 3 more weeks.

Were all thise pics just taken with a normal camera? I think they look cool as hell... kinda vintage. :)

its the truck that makes them look old... maybe

actually they were taken with a really dusty disposable lol

Not the truck.

Its just that they arent crystal clear, and have a fuzzyish look to them. Like I said, I think they are cool looking. Truck looks fantastic btw.

yeah, i know its not the truck

i just like the way the flames sort of match that vintage look to the photos. if i could duplicate it later i would when i take more pictures.

A vintage look could be achieved by using a very fast film such as 3200 speed. Though you'd probly want to take the pictures during less sunlight because it's extremely sensitive.

Thanks for that tip. I wonder if I can adjust the speed on my digital to do the same..

Hmm, it might be possible depending on the model. I've got an older one where the manual isn't the best, so i stick with auto. However when talking about films, the faster films are much more sensitive to light, so they're generally used more for low light, with action. What the negative side is, is a grainier picture, which can also simulate a rougher, rustic style picture

all this is generally speaking, there's lots more to it, but it's an idea

Drew... You find me a 95-98 explorer bumper (just metal part and brackets) shipped to 22408 for under 70$ and I'll GIVE you my stock mounty grille (just help a brother out on shipping). I have me a new grille going in soon as i can get off my ass and finish it (probibly this weekend)

Just thought I would put that up as an offer

i am actually interested in the grille either way. I have a few ideas (far more custom than the chrome bar thing) that i'd like to try. and mine is cracked on one side as it is now (which really ticks me off)

i'm going out of town for pretty much the whole next month though, but i will be checking in as much as possible. just so everyone knows.

Im making an EE speedgrille type setup in mine. I'll send you a PM when I'm ready to get rid of my old grille

what is an EE type speedgrille. EE never actually makes anything themselves so somehow it must be someone elses speedgrille. I hope your speedgrille turns out well. although, i can't understand why you and others think it will look better with a speedgrille or a horizontal billet or whatever. I guess maybe i'll be proven wrong when your done (at least in the eyes of some) but i think it will mess up the really clean style the mountie already has. besides it will be hard to do cleanly with proper fitment due to the bars arrangement. It seems too likely that it would end up looking amateurish even if great skill and care is taken.

This is the type of grille I was talking about
