I got a problem with my 1986 Ranger its 4x4 with a 2.9l. So here it goes the little two wire plug for the lock up I can only drive the truck with that unplugged if I hook it up and try and shift it into gear it will stall right away or if I can get it into gear ill will drive great and out of no were when I slow down at a light it will sputter and try to die but if I leave it unplugged all is good shifts into all gears of course no overdrive, not sure if this is related but its shifts in to reverse really hard and some times chirps the tires and when driving in town it will shift in to 3rd and them I just barely tap the gas and it will dump hard into 2nd then right back into 3rd. So far I have replaced the modulator its got fresh fluid and filter but when its normal driving it shifts in to all gears hard and tight so im thinking its got a shift kit
