I bought a 1986 Ford Ranger with a 2.9L V6 for $300 with fuel pump problems, the guy said that when he was going down the road the truck died. He get the truck home and let it sit, then later tries to start it then it starts and then dies. I got the truck home and took off the fuel line and saw that no fuel was coming out. So I got help to test the wires coming from the enertia switch and no power was coming from it. I thought that it was the fuel pump relay, so I went to Shucks Auto parts store and the gave me the fuel pump relay for $28 (which I don't know if that is the right one, I think they gave me the eec relay). and I replaced the part and I tried it but no fuel was coming out, so I used power to jump the fuel pumps again and they came on. so here I am asking you what the problem is and after 2 weeks or so I will have to take it some where, where they can diagnos it for me, then I can fix the problem myself. Can you please help me with this problem, I am not sure where the problem is and where it could be, Thanks

Pleas only start one thread when talking about a specific problem. it makes it easier for others to help follow what you have tried to do to resolve it and it makes it easier for people to search later on and find the info in one thread that might help them.

This is ONE thread. This is ONE problem. People don't know what I am talking about and nobody seems to make any comments or any suggestions that actually help. Who looks back 2 weeks ago?
