1988 Explorer front windshield pump was not working. First check your fuse in the drivers side interior fuse box. #12 and it is 7.5 amp fuse.Then check the operation of your multiple turn signal switch by pushing on it as you normally would. If still not squirting check relays below and underneath your mass airflow sensor. You will have to remove the airflow pipe/tube from the airbox. Now look down and you will see a black box about 2" wide by 4" long. The squirter relay for the washer is in this box. To change and test quickly exchange them with the ones from the relay box on the driver's side by the battery. Mark them with some tape and vola you will have found the broken relay and your pump will work.
