Ok guys and Explorerette's,

I went and looked at a 91' Sploder today for a 2wd 4dr street cruiser/fixer-uper.

Anyhoo, I noticed a few differences that I hadn't seen before, do any of you have this key release on your streering column????

And this diff cover with the recessed holes for the bolts???????

In 91, there were quite a few things that are different from even 92....

The push button was common on standard tranny equipped Explorers.

That may just be the first Explorer I have ever seen with wheel covers.

Oh, and yea, all the 5 speeds we have had at work have had the "ignition switch lock" gizmo.

The only other one I have seen on here with 2wd wheel covers is isles4ever.....

Under the hood I see that it doesn't have the one piece inlet tube like mine does, but Ihave seen that before, and it has, an A/C recall/upgrade which was to cut the low side hose and add an air silencer/muffler to it.
But other than that I really didn't see to much out of the ordinary!

As for the wheel covers, I have see several early models withthe exact same wheel covers before.

Yea, but you are in Texas, home of the 2wd Explorers! 2wd 1st Gens are hard to find in these parts. ;)

The rear Diff cover was pretty standard on the 1991 Explorer. I first noticed this on DeJello's explorer.
We have found a bunch of hidden differences in the 1991 explorers that the others dont share while cutting and wrenching on Jello's rig.
Good Luck with the purchase.

The door panels are also different then my "92.

Is that Mocha Frost Metallic Clear Coat, code DD? Kinda looks like my sled. Same seats, interior, etc.

Haha! I have the rear wiper/defrost! I picked this up for $300...
