1994 Explorer problems.

I have a 1994 Explorer that I got for free for doing some work. I have two issues, one major and one minor. I will start with the minor.
The dome light does not come on when either of the four doors or rear hatch are opened. The dome light does however come on if you turn the dimmer switch all the way. What could be at fault, fuses look good?

Major issue: Every morning I go out and try to start the vehicle and I get nothing. I wait about ten minutes and I go out and it starts. I have replaced the selenoid and battery is new. I did notice the positive and ground wires off the battery have corrossion on them. Any ideas on what to check? I will look throughout the forum for answers but, if anyone has any idea please help. Thanks

its a ford ask any one who has owned one the battery teriminals need to be clean its easier just to replace them with the kind that bolt not crimp incase you plan to run accesories in the future and your problem with the dome light is strange grab your self a good electrical meter one that has the audible sound for resistance it will tell you if a wire is broken from one point to another as long as its the same wire where you touch the leads just like checking fuses so have fun and have paitence

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 91-94 section. Clean the battery terminals, and get a schematic diagram of the illuminated entry system.
