Gman is correct. You ordered the one with the correct steering extension but incorrect bumper brackets. You will have to make your own. There are schematics/drawings for making the brackets floating around here somewhere on the forum if you search. I have the files saved on my PC at home, I will look for them tonight. Bring the plans to any metal fab shop and they'll make them for you on the cheap.

do you have to drop your gas tank when doing a body lift?

I think its the other way around Paraphoe.. I could have swore the extension on the 853 was the correct one for 95-97 from what I remember..

Nope.

Hmmm...I could be wrong here. I guess he will have to see when the kit arrives. My apologies if I dropped some misinformation.

The steering extensions are the same in each kit. Bumper brackets are the main diff. I also purchased the wrong kit and made my own brackets. The rear brackets are the same on both kits, its just the fronts that need to be made. No Biggie. The only other thing that is diff that I know of is the radiator shroud brackets, and that's not a big deal either.

what needs to be done for the radiator?? Just make the metal straps different? Thanks guys for all the info.
I can return the kit, but if I don't have to I won't...

So the diagram listed is for front brackets?? Glad I get to keep the kit, shipping can be crazy.

How thick of metal for the brackets?

I don't know what other people used but I used 1/4". I have backed into a tree a few times at like 10-15 mph and didn't seem to do anything.

PS I did not mean to hit the tree. Was off roading and was sliding down a hill and hit it.

You talking about the radiator or the bumper?

I have an extra upper radiator bracket you can have. Mine came with 3, but I only needed 2. I am in Oregon too so shipping wouldn't be that much. I also have 3 lower block type hangers but they don't have the holes in them for mounting.

I don't know if you have seen this yet or not for the bumper brackets: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246475

thanks

PM back at ya. ;)

Thanks Jason.... Have to come up your way some day when I get the lift and other parts on...

front bumper bracket ?

So the brackets are the same for the rear and I just need to make the front ones off the shematic and bend as needed???

Thanks
