:burnout:
Hi All! This is my 1st time on this site, hopefully i don't screw this posting up too much.. I hope someone can give me some advice on how to fix my issue with this POS Explorer I have.

I was accidentally locked in the Hayman Mountains when the construction workers decided to close the road and locked up the gate. I drove all over looking for another way out when my 1995 Explorer clutch suddenly went all the way to the floor and stopped shifting.. I pulled over right away and then it overheated..

It starts up just fine, I don't even have to push in the clutch, It sounds like it goes in gear (it's a 5 speed) but would not move at all.

When I press the clutch, it goes right to the floor. I made sure all fluids were filled, nothing was hanging down, I see nothing that appears to be broken...

After hiking 15+ miles for help... and letting it cool down.. Hiked back up to it the next day, it started up fine.. Slipped in 2nd gear and drove it about a mile and then it stopped moving, it never died, just stopped..

Hiked another 15+ miles and had it towed home... (95+ miles to home) that was a pretty penny....

So any clue what happened... how to fix it... I know the best thing to do is just take it in to a shop... but i have no cash for that after having it towed...

Thanks for the help....

I would say you have a leak in the hydraulic system, most likely is the slave cylinder.

Sounds like the clutch is fried or the throw out bearing is not releasing.
