There's a place that you can download the ford manuals, I think that it is www.fordcds.com , but I'm not positive. I'm sure one of the other guys on here knows for sure. Sorry to hear that you're still having problems with it.

Brooklyn, that PDF file that you linked for me on the TRS install is showing an A4LDE, I assume I have the 4R55E. Is the install still similar to the one you have linked?
I had a feeling that you might have this question when I posted this link. The E at the end means electronic, so it's the same transmission as you have. It's just another name for it. WWW.TransmissionPartsUSA.Com has this part as well as the alignment tool.

Hi BrooklynBay,
PDF file shows special tool needed to adjust TR sensor. Is this tool a must, or, there is a way around w/o it. I have similar problem and I have to replace my TR sensor. I checked WWW.TransmissionPartsUSA.Com and could find the tool there. Could you please provide a part number?
Thanks

It is possible to adjust the sensor without it, but the correct tool simplifies every job. If you adjust the sensor, and you see that your back up light are turning on in reverse (with the parking brake applied, and somebody at the wheel just in case) then it is most likely adjusted properly. I was searching for the tool on their website, but I didn't see it. I remember that it was around $60 the last time I saw it on there.

Thanks, I'll try that. Here is my problem: my back up lights turn on when I shift from P to R all the time. However, when I shift from P or N to R, back up lights only turn on 30 percent of the time. I have to wiggle shift lever up and down a bit to make them come on. Does this sound like a bad TR sensor, or bad adjustment?

Also, to adjust it w/o replacing, do I have to remove shift lever nut? Or, loosening up two side bolts will be enough? I've looked through Haynes X manual and they don't give too many details about TR installation. I am going to check Ford' s manual to see if it has a better description.
Thanks

I wish people would make this board more useful and update these threads with the solution to their problem. The thread just gets abandoned with no update. I see this alot.
