1995 XLT trouble code 639

95 xlt 4w.d. has trouble code 639 turbine speed sensor insufficient signal level. I have the new sensor but can't locate it. I need to know if i can get at it when i do a fluid and filter change.

Welcome to this forum! This sensor is located on the center support. There is no way you could get to it without opening up the transmission. Clean the white external plug outside of the transmission before tearing it apart. A little dirt or corrosion from moisture could make a bad connection, and throw a code.

The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is in the rear. This is the TSS (turbine speed sensor).
