1996 awd to 2wd conversiom

complete newbie here...

1996 awd v8 xlt

transfer case making noise.

want to convert to 2wd... ( houston, tx NO NEEd FOR AWD)


already have the 4r70w 2wd tranny and d/s

can the diff and cv's be pulled?

are the AWD spindles and the 2wd spindles the same?

( simply switch out the hub bearings?)

I have searched through y'alls forum and see conflicting answers...

what about VSS sensor? tc mounted -v.- tranny mounted-v.- rearend mounted?

point me in the right direction.

You'll have to switch the 4wd knuckle to the 2wd spindles. Then just pull the front diff out.

Pull the VSS sensor from the tcase and bolt it into the new 2wd tranny's tail housing. Easy as cake.

What year 4x2 tranny did you get?
