Hoping someone can help me. I just purchased a 96 Eddie Bauer for my wife. Everytime the steering wheel is turned excessivly it makes a series of clicking noises, then as soon as you straigten the wheel out, the truck dies. Don't know what's going on checked power steering fluid, all belts wife wants to get rid of new truck, but I disagree. thanks for your help, sam

It sounds like something inside the coloumn is loose/broken. Other than that I have no clue where to start.

It's been a while, and I just wanted to shed some light on this subject. I took to truck in the local ford dealership, and they stated that there was an internal failure with the Power stearing system cost to repair would be $1500 included new power stearing pump, rack, and hoses. Well, that wasn't the problem, it turned out to actually be the flywheel, 1 bolt was loose, and it was cracked.

heh, ford technicians at their best. glad you got the truck fixed!

They all gather around and make their best guess to solve problems.

Like in the commercial where the lady call in about her car and the guy told her, he had 3 of his best guys on it right now. Guess what? They were sitting on her car having lunch.
