Does anyone know if there is a decent air intake or cold air intake system that gives a noticable HP gain for a 96 explorer?

Thanks

search

Do a search on here for K&N, mac, KKM, they are all companies that make the aftermarket drop in or total open air filters. I have a K&N open air cylindrical filter in mine, I notice a bit of improvement, some don't, some do. But the ones that usually do also have exhaust on their X's. However, it is said to help fuel economy. I would go for it if it is going to be the first mod to your explorer and go from there.

Thanks Jester, I have seen those, I just wasn't sure if they would offer any noticable improvement or not.

I do plan on doing much more than just the intake, but I figure I'll start ou easy :)

Well I just order the KKM, I was in need of a new filter so I figured why not.

Unfortunatly I also found out that my Transfer Case is shot. So now I have to try and find a rbuilt one, since the dealer wants over $2k for a new one.
