1996 explorer xlt fuel injected won't start

Ran my explorer out of gas- tried to start withless than a gal. no luck .... put in three gals, and turns over, but no start. checked relay- it's clicking... is there some way to "Prime" the f/i? I got nothing but a drained battery- Help!

Relay may be clicking, but do you hear the fuel pump pressurize the system. Check that first.
