Does anyone know what FORD recommends for the tire pressure on the 1996 XLT?
After the Firestone fiasco I thought the "tire experts" agreed that the tire pressure was incorrect. My original Firestones were replaced with Goodyear 235/75R15 m/s tires prior to the recall/replacement, but I thought FORD recommended a pressure adjustment also.
Also while searching I found three posts from 1999:
1. IF YOU DON'T RUN OFF-ROAD, GET THOSE FIRESTONES OFF AND PUT ON AN ALL SEASON MICHELIN SERIES. I DID AND IT MADE BIG DIFFERENCES IN HANDLING, ROAD NOISE AND TIRE LIFE. SNOW IN 4X4 WAS NOT A PROBLEM EITHER
2. I have the Firestone P235/75R15 105 S M/S tires on my 94XLT. What is the best air pressure to run in them for interstate driving?
3. when i i got the tires mounted the dealer had them inflated at 44lbs! he said that i would get better gas mileage.
