I have , what I think, is a T-case on it`s way out. It`s in a 1997 Explorer XL 4l single cam.
My question is, will a T-case from a 1994 Explorer 4l swap in?
I don`t have the funds to rebuild, but a buddy is parting out a 1994 with a great T-case.

I hope this post is in the right spot o.0

Any help would be very much appreciated.

In a word: Nossir... A 94 case will not be a direct replacement for a 97 case. Can it be made to work? Yes, but if and only if it's a MANUAL case out of a 94.

The only direct replacement for the 97 case is another 97 case. Sorry.

?????????? really
I thought the 1354 will bolt to the back of the trans on a 97 OHV auto????

I never said it wouldn't bolt up... It will, and we all know that. My point is that the only direct bolt-up plug-and-play replacement for a 97 is the 97 case. It has the correct connectors, correct function when connected, and correct outputs to mate up with the OEM driveshafts.

I should have been more clear...

*Sigh* Ever notice the parts you get for free are the ones that don`t fit/work?
Well...Thanks for the info guys. I guess I`m hunting in the wreckers. Mine says on the case, "Borg Warner Electronic", so that`s not a manual.:(
I`ll let you know if I find a working one. I need it for this winter. Cheers!:salute:
