I'm brand new to this site but I have used it several times to reference repairs on my 1998 Explorer LTD and it has been a fantastic resource.

I am replacing the ball joints on my 98 Explorer LTD and was wondering if there is any helpful tips anyone has or can point me in the right direction. Its my first time doing this repair and I was wondering specifically what all I should replace. Should I replace shock, tie rod, etc as well or should I only focus on the ball joints themselves?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!

When you replace the upper control arms I would replace the upper control arm bolts with adjustable ones. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=504145&cc=1304413&jsn=636 When I did this exact repair on my 2000 Ranger 4x4 I replaced the upper control arms using the adjustable control arm bolts, replaced the lower ball joints, & checked the shocks, tie rods, & the hub & bearings & replaced only what was needed. I used all Moog parts.
