1999 Lift gate failure

Hello... it appeares my lift gate is tearing away at the hinges located on the lift gate itself..

1. Where is a good source to find replacement lift gates

2. Can it be fixed.. still useing the gate.. but not sure how long I can continue to use it.

Any suggestions would be great.. point me to other threads dealing with this subject..

1. Best place to look for lift gates would be an auto salvage yard. I found one close to me where you pull your own parts. Those lots are typically cheaper than places that pull them for you....plus you get to "practice" on a vehicle not your own. With the cash for clunkers program it's been great for me and my three Ex's. Might even find one in your color.

2. I suppose if you found a good welder it could be fixed. You'd most likely have to pull the door anyway as you wouldn't want to weld the hitch in place. At that point...I'd probably go looking for another door.
