1st, 2nd, 3rd gen Ranger in years?

Can someone tell me what the generations are for Rangers in years? Thanks

82-88 is 1st Gen....No question about it.
89-92 is 2nd Gen....Shares the same firewall, and bed as 82-88. New Front sheet Metal, and interior.
93-94 is 3rd Gen....Firewall is same since 82, new rounded body lines, same dash and interior as 89-92.
95-97 is more like a 3.1 Gen....New Firewall layout, New interior, shared with the Explorer from 1995-2001, same body as 93-94.
98-11 is better described as 3.2 Gen....It had minor updated sheet metal, same interior since `95.

The suspension changed from Coil & I-beam to Torsion bar & A-arm around 1997.....But for a while they were building the coil and torsion bar Rangers at the same time.
