I'm thinking about converting my '91 X to use an electric transfer case but I don't have the wiring in mine. I've got a donor X and can see that the transfer case wires go through the floor under the driver seat then follows another harness along the floor on the left side and heads toward the rear. I wasn't able to pull the carpet and trim panels but does anyone know how far back it goes and does it connect to the another harness somewhere. Basicly, I need to know if I can connect the Electric transfer case harness into my X via "Plug & Play" or am I looking at having to splice several wires? ...which ain't gonna happen.

why would you want to go to an electronic shift? the manuals are so much more reliable, the gen 1's tended to lock up when you needed them the most. I spent hours repairing the shift motor on my old explorer only to replace it with a manual shift TC, that solved all my problems.

just my opinion, but you may have other plans...
