1st Gen Front End.

I just got done doing a makeover on my X's front end. Got the diamond clear headlights, corners, and reflectors, along with a new grille and headlight trim.

Aside from the front end, I added vent shades, a shorter antenna, and got a glasspack and chrome tip put on. I am still in the process of changing the shocks, you can view my first post to see how thats going. *sigh*

After the install, I cleaned her up and took some pics. Here's my before and after.

I actually just purchased this Explorer a couple weeks ago. Its a '94 XLT 4x4 w/ 113k miles, only one previous owner. I actually owned one like this 3 years ago (Reason I've been registered here so long, heh). I bought it back in 2001 and it was the same color, package, EVERYTHING. Well, almost everything, my previous X had more miles, a sunroof, and the 4x4 didn't work. I'm sorta trying to make this one just like my old one. Here's a link to my old cardomain. Before you flame, I was a younger version of myself drawn into the lights and sounds of TF&TF. I don't regret it because it was fun, but I don't plan to go all green light crazy nor do I plan to put a ridiculous system in it. Just gonna put the more tasteful mods back on her.

I loved my old explorer and sold it to acquire a 1990 300zx which was in incredible condition. Click below to view my flickr album. Me and my wife are now expecting our first child and I've been drawn back into the roomy interior of the X and hopefully the same reliabilitly my first X had. I'm glad to be back in the saddle of a first gen, I really missed my X when I sold it, but I can't say I didn't adore my Z.

That's a very chromy grille! lol If you ever decide to change it I'd look at a billet. When I put mine on it completely changed the look, looks 'meaner' I guess you'd say.

Nice work! The grill and light package really dress up the front. I looked at your old pics and I also like the thinking behind the front valence you added to your old Ex., though I didn't care for the style of the one you actually used.

Yeah i know, but lmc only has three custom lights for the explorer of my year,not a big selection at all compared to the lights ive seen on x's here, im just trying to avoid the ebay route lol.thanks for the tip though!

i also did this you can get the 6pc set on ebay for 100$ and they were a lot brighter with the same ****ty bulbs. i have a picture but idk how to attach it.

A little belated but that picture IS my old explorer. The wing was a lund windjammer. That thing was 10x as clean as my current.
