Is there a way to correct this or to put it as close to level as possible?

I looked around under there, and tried doing a search on this board for an answer, but haven't come up with anything.

Maybe someone can help me out?

Is it bent down or up...if down, take a good floor jack or hi-lift jack and put some wood between the floor jack/high lift and and the bumper and start lifting, your bumper should not support your truck so it will bend until you stop.

Both ends of the bumper are starting to droop down, maybe about an inch on each side..

I'd like to have a more permanent fix, because it seems like bending it back into place would quickly undue itself after a few good bumps.

Where would I be able to pick up a decent aftermarket bumper (for street use only)?

Thanks for the help.

there are some bolts that hold the bumper to the frame. Loosen them and have a buddy hold on to the bumper just in case cause its heavy. Move the bumper to where you want, (a jack might help also). then tighten the bolts as tight as you can get them, maybe add some locktite so they won't shift again.

I thought about that too, but it's just the corners that are drooping.. Doesn't look like the whole bumper is shifted, though obviously the corners would show more because of the lines with the truck.

I'll look at it tomorrow and see if I can fix it like that.

when i got my explorer the front bumper was pushed in a bit. I ended up replacing it cause i found a new one cheap. But when i swapped them out the sides were sloped down. i found that the brackets that hold the bumper had been bent/twisted. I have seen a handful of other explorers around that have the dropping sides also, but without pushed in fronts.

I would make sure your bumper is not pushed in, in the center and maybe pull it off and see if you can tweak the brackets a bit. i just put them in a vice and made small adjustments then checked it on the X until i got it the way i wanted

i assume you have 1st gen. and you have to remember these things aren't straight off the line anymore so what was stock could have been bent/twisted/shifted/expanded/contracted or any combination of those. You just never know.

Don't know if it will work for you but it worked on mine. ('91 4 door)

Good luck
