Forget about it Just buy a 4runner. More reliable and you will never be embarrassed again.

Don't even start this b.s.
Since you're not going to be a hardcore wheeler, why buy parts like one? Just get enough to get the job done.
I agree with this fully. start with a small lift and real offroad tires. This will make a ton of difference. What gears do you have?
A set of BFG T/A ko's will be $100-$150 per tire
If you are going to be in the mud I'd get mud terrains. BFG atko's have to tight a tread pattern and get clogged up if you aren't really on the gas

My point is that even if explorers had all the power of an F-16 they are still unreliable crap that will breakdown and cause major headaches and cost more to keep running than it cost to buy.

Statements like this serve no purpose, and don't belong here. If you don't like Explorer's, great. Just stay off our site.

i agree with mbrooks. we welcome people with any type of vehicle, even jeepers but dont come on to our site to bash us.

Are you kidding me! Your coming to a 95% explorer owner site and bashing us! I can't believe you even find time to do this!

lol i wish i could do the cat noise

ok, go to a scrap yard, get a set of rear leaf springs from a 4dr explorer, or get a set of 2" springs all around. My front skyjacker's ran me 140, and I can clear 33's in a ranger, but you would be quite impresses with just a set of 31's I'm sure. I'd get the class 3 hitch, gives you a good solid tow pont, and a lot safer for pulling a trailer

this thread has gotten away from what I wanted.

oh well

re: robb
