Hello everyone! I am a new member and decided to register on here and see if you guys could help with a few problems I am having with my grandma's 95 Eddie Bower X. The trans on it will not shift from 1st unless you let off the accelerator. I have seen a few threads on here saying that it could be many things. Has anyone else had that problem? and what was the fix??? She has replaced the transmission atleast 3 times and I personally would rather go any other route first. Could adjusting the intermediate bands fix this problem? Any possibilities???

OH and she just had the trans fluid and filter replaced.

92 Ranger A4LD shift problems.

Hello, I am having a problem with my 92 ranger. It does not shift out of 1st when it is cold. After it warms up if will shift out of 1st but it seems like that first shift out of 1st gear prematurely shifts into 3rd. It started doing this suddenly after changing my brakes of all things...lol I previously had adjusted my bands on the tranny because of a mis-diagnosis.

Also when i was driving down the street it seemed like the tranny locked up, wheels screetched and made grinding sound. I since have adjusted the OD band and it hasn't locked up since but still makes kinda nasty noises when I go over 45mph and let off the gas when the engine is trying to slow the truck down. What could this be??? and please no bad tranny :( I love the truck too much to let her go.

i had a similar problem yet my tranny would over rev when it shifted from 1rst to 2nd. and would sometimes not shift till i let off the accelerator. all i did was buy a red tube some stuff at Orielys that was for transmissions. its a lil red tube i wisjh i could remember the name of it but i couldnt either when i went in to buy it and i described what i was looking for and they gave me the right thing. i put it in the transmission and after a couple of days it seemed to do the trick. dont know if thatll help you.

Was the tube of red stuff like a additive that you put in the transmission fill tube? I think i'll go down to the parts store and see if i can find something similar. Thanks

yes it was. and its a lil red tube with white letters on it. the name is on the tip of my tounge but i cant quite say it. gotta hate those moments.
