2-3 flare 5r55e

I am looking to replace my valvebody to help my 2-3rd flare issue.
There is a separate issue as well I have no engine braking, what is wrong and is it a easy fix? do I need to get a rebuilt tranny or can I fix this my self?
The minute I let off the gas it goes straight to idle and just coasts.

Normally there is little or no engine braking in drive with OD on. The test for engine braking is in manual low, speed up then let off gas, it should have engine braking.There are many things that can cause the same problem in a 5R55E. Best place to start is oil and filter change, then the valve body and new gaskets, or do both at same time. When you remove the valve body look for blown gaskets first as that may be the problem.
