Hey I know that all of you are going to say use the search bar or go with the torsion twist but I don't want a torsion twist I want 2" of lift on a 1998 ford explorer sport and it has stock independent but I want a suspension lift not a body lift. I'm trying to fit 31s and be able to flex and turn and not rub at all.
Thanks

Well you have no options if you're 4wd. If you're 2wd you can get 3" lift spindles.

Well the only reason why I don't do a torsion twist is because I heard it's really hard on the ball joints is that true?

Its only hard on the joints and stuff when you twist it up more than two inches alot and I mean alot of people on this forum including myself have done the TT with no problems so long as you keep it 2in or under you will be fine. However you should be able to fit 31s with out any rubbing at all any way

I think posting like that is like your talking about yourself. If you would have searched there are many shackles you can use from warriors to copperhead to fabbing your own or universal shackles from Oreilly's. I have found is that a 1.5" TT is perfect it actually made mine ride much better as it was way to soft before.

um alright but i wouldn't of made a post in the first place saying specifically that I already searched and i hadn't found the right answer I was looking for and they gave me the right answer I was looking for problem solved? thanks for the info though it really helped make my decision on a torsion twist but one more question how did you make it a perfect 1.5 inches?
Thanks alot

Trial and error. You can actually turn the adjuster bolts while the Explorer is on the ground. So just measure your before height, adjust, measure, until you get your desired height. It'll probably settle a bit after driving. So remeasure after a few miles before you get it aligned.

So I don't need to Jack it up it can be on the ground when I crank the torsion bars?

yes however the bolts seem to be alot harder to turn with all the weight on them and remember it will settle some

Affirmative.

I recommend jacking it, I heard some bad noises the first time I tried a TT that scared the **** out of me
