Well now I'm having a hard time finding which one would be the right part, since it's not the 14B422 part...
Call up or go to your local dealership parts counter and see if they will give you the correct full part # that you need or you can just call around to the local parts recyclers and ask them if they have any from a 2006-10 explorer.
I understand your frustration since I just went through purchasing a new fog lamp assembly for my Mounaineer and discovered after the fact that the part I needed (part numbers differed by 1 number) was not the same for both the EX and Mounty and the part I really needed was 3x more expensive and all the nice custom fog light conversions are only for the EX (don't fit the Mounty because the lens shapes are different). Sigh.

Well, if you haven't checked the airbag sensor relay bracket (14B058) it may be worth a shot to see if for some reason the connection is bad there.
Take a look at the diagrams on fordparts, but I believe that it is under the center console. Meaning that you have to pull the center console storage compartment to get at it.
Do you happen to have the optional side curtain airbags on your vehicle? At this point it is starting to sound like you are going to need Ford to do a pinpoint test to figure out exactly what airbag is sending an improper voltage that is setting off the DTC.
Don't know you would have to call, but in the mean time you could track down the connector going to the side curtain airbag on the passenger side and see if it is just that. If the side curtain ends up being bad you can go the $40 side curtain airbag delete option by putting a resistor in the connector for that side.
I agree, just throwing that out there with it being right before the holiday in case you wanted to pull some more pieces of trim off of the vehicle and track down where the side curtain connects in (in the kick panel somewhere?) as a final connection check before you let someone else track down that gremlin.
They couldn't figure it out and I'll have to bring it back in. The two codes they couldn't clear was B2290 and B2295. They don't think its the airbag, but might be wiring under the carpet that I couldn't get to. There were 3 other codes they cleared out that didn't come back. B1318, B2097, and B1342. This is going to be a pain to get fixed, I can tell it now.
