I have 2 10 inch subs in my truck and i have a kinda odd question. Can you somehow put a toggle switch on the speaker wire to a subwoofer so you can turn it on and off? So you could use only one sub so you wont have as much bass if you like. Is this a bad idea?

very bad idea.. sorry

you should be able to adjust the bass from up front with your hu if the gains are set right etc. as much as you feel the need to

if u want to be able to run ur subs when u want, just get seperate amps, what i did, i'm running 4 10" subs on 2 amps, each amp has a rocker switch on its "blue" wire to control the power to it, allowing me to run 0/2/4 subs at the flick of a switch which i love, cause i listen to all kinds of music

if it were set up right all kinds of music would sound good with the subs on

Yep. If you think you need to shut an amp off for different music, my guess is your crossover to your amp is too high or your box is wrong for your subs and vehicle size. I like 90hz, others set it down to 70hz. Make sure the rest of your speakers are bass blocked at that frequency, too.

One way I like to test is to find a CD with a male singer with a deep voice. You shouldn't hear his voice if you just have the subs on. What part of the other kind of music do you think makes having multiple subs sound wrong? Try to tune that out.

just my 2 cents.
