2000 Explorer transmission problem.

Has anyone had this problem? When I back out of the garage in the morning my explorer automatic transmission seems like it just comes out of gear. I wait for about five seconds and then it takes off again. Doesn't happen every time but most of the time. Sometimes does it at dinner time when I leave work and let off the gas in the median of the highway to wait for cars, then takes off again.
My explorer has the 4.0 liter sohc engine. All wheel drive.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread to the transmission section. Did you check the fluid level to see if it's low?

Fluid level is fine. New fluid and filter 5000 miles ago. Transmission does not seem to be slipping. Just stops moving for a couple of seconds.

It's possible that the valve body bolts are loose or the valve body gaskets might be bad. How many miles does it have? The EPC solenoids don't last forever.
